Synapticz Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Synapticz ("Synapticz", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the Synapticz Android application, synapticz.com, and the services connected to them (together, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, we collect or process:

  • Account and profile information: name, email address, password hash, verification status, profile picture, biography, social-profile links, country, country code, mobile number, role and account dates.
  • Learning profile information: optional age or birth year, student status, goals, selected exams, target years, language and learning preferences.
  • Content you provide: prompts, focus instructions, quizzes, questions, articles, code, answers, notes, comments, reports, ratings, messages, uploaded images and documents, filenames, cover images, profile images, and video or source URLs.
  • Audio: recordings you choose to create for descriptive-answer and learning features, including recording duration and related question/session identifiers.
  • Learning activity: content viewed or generated, test and learning sessions, selected answers, submitted code, scores, marks, time taken, streaks, accuracy, mastery, saved concepts, bookmarks, review schedules and AI-generated feedback or recommendations.
  • Community activity: content visibility, shares, connections, mentor/mentee sharing choices, quiz results you choose to share with a creator, public posts, creator information and content-error reports.
  • Payment, referral and payout information: plans, purchase amount and currency, transaction/order identifiers and status, subscription dates, referral records, commissions, and—only when a payout feature is used—bank-account, IFSC, UPI or PayPal details. Payment card or wallet credentials are handled by the payment provider rather than stored by Synapticz.
  • Device and technical information: push-notification token, platform, notification settings, time zone, app/browser storage choices, request path, status and timing, and security/rate-limit identifiers derived from a guest browser credential or IP address.
  • Support information: your name, email, subject, message, our response status and internal support notes.

For Google sign-in, we receive the name, email, profile picture and verification information Google makes available after you approve sign-in. The Google ID token is used to authenticate the request and is not intentionally stored as profile data.

2. How information is collected

  • Directly from you when you create or update an account, enter learning material, upload a source, record audio, make a purchase, publish or share content, or contact support.
  • Automatically when the app or website communicates with our servers, records learning progress, enforces limits, delivers notifications or writes security and reliability logs.
  • From Google when you use Google sign-in, and from payment providers when they return order, payment or subscription status.

3. Why we use information

  • Operate accounts, authentication, learning sessions, quizzes, articles, saved work, community features and support.
  • Generate, evaluate and personalize educational content and measure learning progress.
  • Process purchases, entitlements, referrals, creator earnings and payouts.
  • Send verification, service and optional push notifications.
  • Prevent abuse, protect accounts, enforce limits, diagnose failures and improve reliability.
  • Comply with law, resolve disputes and enforce our terms and policies.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of the Service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting it, consent for optional processing, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. AI and source processing

Synapticz uses automated systems to generate quizzes, lessons, feedback and learning plans. Text, extracted document content, images, code, answers, recordings and video transcripts submitted to these features may be sent to our AI infrastructure for processing. Generated material and the prompts or source text needed to continue a saved learning session may be stored with your account. AI output can be inaccurate; do not submit secrets, confidential records or personal data that is not needed for learning.

Source documents and images are parsed in memory to provide the requested feature. We do not intentionally keep the original source file as a separate upload unless you use a feature that explicitly saves an image or file, but extracted text, filenames, derived content and provider-side processing records may remain as described here.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We disclose only the information needed for the following purposes:

  • Google: Google Cloud hosts application infrastructure, Cloud Storage objects and Vertex AI processing; Google also provides sign-in and, when enabled, Firebase Cloud Messaging. Our database hosting provider stores the PostgreSQL application data described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Supadata: receives a supported video URL when you ask us to obtain its transcript. See Supadata's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend: receives an email address and message content to deliver verification and account emails. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
  • Razorpay or another disclosed payment provider: processes checkout and returns payment status and identifiers. See Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads: receive website measurement and conversion data only after website cookie consent. These services are not currently embedded as analytics SDKs in the Android app.
  • Other users: receive profile, creator, post and learning content you make public or explicitly share. A quiz creator can receive your quiz results only when you enable the corresponding sharing control.
  • Authorities or successors: where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect safety or rights, investigate abuse, or complete a merger, financing or transfer subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information. Our providers may process information in other countries under their own legal obligations and contractual safeguards.

6. Storage and retention

  • Account, profile, saved content and learning history are generally kept while your account is active or until you delete the relevant item.
  • Guest SynLearn preview payloads expire after 24 hours. Hashed guest browser/IP rate-limit buckets are cleaned after approximately two days.
  • Email verification and password-reset codes are valid for 10 minutes and are replaced or deleted when used. Security tokens expire; the current app session token expires after 30 days.
  • Payment, commission, payout, fraud-prevention and tax/accounting records may be retained for the period required by law or reasonably needed to resolve transactions and disputes. When an account is deleted, Synapticz detaches retained payment records from the profile where the database permits.
  • Minimal deletion and system-administration audit records may retain an internal numeric actor identifier, operation status and date, but not the deleted profile, email, access token or learning content.
  • Operational logs are kept according to our hosting and security configuration. We avoid intentionally logging request bodies, raw prompts, document names, AI output, authentication tokens or client IP addresses in application request logs.
  • Data removed from active systems may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups rotate. Independent providers retain information under their policies and legal duties.

7. Account and data deletion

You can permanently delete your account in the Android app under Settings → Account → Delete account, or use synapticz.com/delete-account. The active account profile, authentication access, linked learning history, saved items, recordings and private content are deleted. Unreferenced Synapticz Cloud Storage files are queued for removal after the database transaction completes.

We may retain de-identified public catalogue contributions, transaction records and minimal audit records where necessary for service integrity, security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal compliance. Copies independently saved by another user and records controlled independently by payment or infrastructure providers are not deleted directly by this action. Deletion does not itself issue a refund or cancel an external recurring payment.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Update supported profile and notification preferences in the Service.
  • Choose whether to grant microphone and notification permissions in Android settings.
  • Choose content visibility and whether to share activity with a mentor where those controls are offered.
  • Decline optional website analytics/advertising cookies.
  • Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent or a portable copy where applicable law provides those rights.

Email admin@synapticz.com to make a request. We may need to verify that you control the account.

9. Security

We use HTTPS in the production Android app, hash account passwords, restrict access by role, protect mobile session tokens with platform secure storage, and exclude application data from Android cloud backup and device transfer. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so please use a unique password and avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.

10. Children

Synapticz is an education service and may ask for age or birth year to configure the experience. We do not knowingly collect a child's personal information where parental authorization is legally required without that authorization. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information improperly should contact us so we can investigate and delete it. Age availability and parental-consent requirements may differ by country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised policy here, update its effective date and provide additional notice when required.
