Tangent lines, velocity and units

Tangent lines, velocity and units

Connect derivatives to tangent lines, velocity and meaningful units in this optional calculus-bridge practice. Use point-and-slope data to construct local linear models, estimate nearby outputs and check approximation error against an exact function. Motion and water-flow contexts distinguish signed velocity from speed and rates from accumulated quantities. Single-select and multiselect questions include worked calculations and misconception checks. The focus is introductory local modeling; a tangent approximation is not a guarantee of accuracy far from its base point.
