Number sense and algebra: mixed module checkpoint
Use this mixed precalculus checkpoint after studying the Module 1 foundation topics. The questions sample real-number classification, signed arithmetic, units and percentages, substitution, powers, radicals, polynomial structure, factoring and rational expressions.
The methods are deliberately interleaved. Work out which idea applies without relying on a topic label or a preceding question. Some problems connect two skills, such as polynomial degree after cancellation, coefficient reconstruction, or domain restrictions after dividing simplified expressions. Single-select and select-all questions require you to inspect the complete answer, including any conditions.
Assessment approach
Attempt the set without notes or a calculator and write your reasoning before checking choices. Review the detailed explanations after completing the attempt. A missed question should lead to targeted practice in the relevant foundation topic, followed by a fresh problem.
Interpreting the result
This is a low-stakes sample of readiness, not a comprehensive diagnosis or a validated mastery threshold. Strong selected-response performance should be supplemented by independent written work and a later retrieval check. No extension-only techniques are required.
